Some girls will always have your back, and some girls can't help but stab you in it. Alex, Mollie and Veronica are the best of friends, and the party girls of the school. Everybody knows them, but do they really know each other. As the girls start to drift apart by keeping secrets, desperately trying to be loved, and just plain out being ridiculously mean to each other the "best year of their lives" is turning out to be the worst. Will their friendship survive the ride? Those Girls a novel by Lauren Saft shows the struggle of three girls trying to make it through their last years of high school and still remain best friends.

I found Those Girls to be quite vulgar sometimes (and not in a funny way). The only thing I truly liked about this book is it's occasional humor. My favorite character was Alex and her brother Josh, I admired their relationship and wished my brothers and I could get along like them. However, I couldn't stand Mollie or Veronica because they were either too desperate or mean to one another. I felt the book had good pacing and kept the plot going, but overall Those Girls is a vulgar look at what the generation of today is all about, being accepted, lies, and secrets to tear other people to shreds. I’d recommend this to a older teens as it references sex a lot. The writing was very good, I just didn’t care for the plot.

  1. I haven’t seen many good reviews for this one, and so I’m pretty nervous about reading this one. Glad the writing is good though–I can’t stand books with bad writing, even if the plot is really good. Oh well, I’ll just have to see how it goes. Great review!
